Only after moving away from home did I realize that my brother and I live worlds apart. Other than an irrefutable genetic cocktail and mutual domestic frustration we shared little else. To escape the frustrations of a dissatisfying home life I sought sanctuary at my then-girlfriend's house. My brother, in turn, distanced himself by delving into a world rife with questionable friends, hobbies and practices. Brothers is an ongoing investigation of Timothy Robert Semel, my younger brother. By documenting my brother's life I am able to re-align the orbits of the worlds we inhabit. This ongoing series is a chance for me to reconnect with him and better understand his world.
